Architecture

A pale stone courtyard residence arranged around a mature tree and a reflecting pool
01 / Architecture study

A meaningful relationship with place.

We begin with the site: its light, landscape, rhythms, and possibilities. From there, we develop a spatial idea around the people who will use it, making room for daily life to unfold naturally.

A considered scope
  • Site & brief exploration
  • Concept & spatial planning
  • Material & façade direction
  • Design development coordination
For homes, hospitality, and thoughtful small-scale spaces.Explore your architecture brief

Interiors

Spaces you can feel at home in.

An interior is experienced up close. We consider the way you move, the textures you touch, the light that changes through the day, and the objects you choose to keep. Every element is part of the same quiet story.

A considered scope
  • Interior concept & space planning
  • Materials, finishes & lighting direction
  • Bespoke furniture concepts
  • Furniture & object curation

Creative direction

One idea, carried all the way through.

A place has a voice beyond its walls. We help articulate that voice, connecting spatial identity, visual references, and considered details to create an experience that feels both distinctive and complete.

A considered scope
  • Spatial identity & visual narratives
  • Art direction & mood studies
  • Styling & object selection
  • Experience & atmosphere direction

How we work

A clear process.
Room to explore.

Good design is a conversation. We keep ours open, thoughtful, and grounded in a shared understanding at every step.

  1. 01

    Discover

We listen, ask questions, and explore your ambitions, priorities, site, and budget. Together, we define what success should feel like.

  2. 02

    Imagine

We translate the brief into a clear concept, using plans, material references, and visual studies to bring the possibilities into focus.

  3. 03

    Refine

We develop the chosen direction with you, considering the details and coordinating the design with the wider project team.

  4. 04

    Realise

We support the agreed design through the next project stages, with a scope and handover tailored to your project and appointed specialists.

What kinds of projects does RUMA explore?

The studio concept spans homes, small hospitality spaces, retail, and workspaces. We are particularly interested in briefs where natural light, honest materials, and the way people live can shape the design from the start.

Can architecture and interiors be part of one brief?

Yes. Considering architecture and interiors together can create a more connected result. They can also be approached as separate scopes, depending on your site, project stage, and needs.

What should I prepare before a first conversation?

A short description of your idea is enough to begin. If available, include the location, approximate area, a few images, your intended timeline, and a comfortable budget range. You do not need to have every detail resolved.

How are fees and timelines decided?

Every project is different. A proposed scope, sequence of work, deliverables, fees, and indicative timeline would be agreed after an initial brief. Changes to the scope should always be discussed before additional work begins.

Is this an operating architecture practice?

RUMA is a fictional practice and this website is a demonstration. Project inquiries on this site can be explored in the interactive contact form, but do not create a professional appointment or a booking.
